Characteristics
Passionflower is a perennial climbing vine. The exotic-looking flowers only stay open for around one day. Passionflowers need full sun to partial shade and moist, well-drained soil with mulch on top. Because they climb, passionflowers require some kind of armature upon which to grow. Passionflowers are also heavy feeders, so adding compost to the soil composition is a must.
Magickal Properties
Passionflower is a calming herb, so it can uplift the spirit and represents gentleness. When planted near the home, passionflower brings peace. Because it is a clinging vine, it is also used in love magick for drawing and maintaining affection.
